Carroll JV and Freshman Summer League |
|
Smitty from Carroll and I am seeking teams to participate in Carroll's JV and Freshman summer league. This year I am doing 24 teams and I already have 16 and I need 8 more teams. Last year I had some very good teams, DeMatha who won it all, Spalding, Gonzaga, Carroll, Good Counsel, O'Connell, St. Albans, Landon, DC Hawks, Alexandria Rising Stars, Fairfax Stars and a bunch of other schools. Former players that have participated in this league are: James White, Harvey Thomas, Freddy Stanback, Christian Boo-Boo Jackson, Marcus Ginyard, Ahmad Smith, Wade Dunston, Chris McCray, Brian Johnson, Calvin Cage, Ronald Timus, Daniel Battle, John Homles, Antionio Pixley,Desmond Adedeji, Jermaine Green, Justin Castleberry, Maurice Sumpter, David Neal, Antwaunn Harrison, Landy Thompson, Jesse Brooks, John Vaughn, Johvan Whitby, Alton Fortner, Kevin Tyner, Rasheed Cole, Alfred Walsh and it is just too many players to list. All the games are on the weekends and it is the top JV summer league in the area bar none. If you are interested it putting a team in the league email me at Smith@comm-partners.com for more infomation.
Two summers ago the Alexandria All-Stars quailfied to go to the AAU Nationals in Indiana by knocking off DC Team Assault in the final four Potomac Valley AAU National Qualifier at St Albans. Smitty, was kind enough to let AAS in the summer league at the last moment. The AAS needed tough cometition to get ready for the Nationals. Smitty rearranged the schedule so that AAS could be away for 10 days and not lose a game. AAS ended up as a Finalist playing the very good Newport JV team. Some of the stand players were Kevin Tyner, Rasheed Cole, Sean Fitzmaurice, Frank Robertson, Ahmad Smith, and Alton Fortner. That was a dream team. The championship game went right down to the wire. That is typical of the talent and level of play in the summer league. Stay tuned for more info... DChoops.org will list the schedule and post results from the previous week on Tues. each week |
