The woman seated at the far left is Emma D. St. John Smith. Seated to Emma's right is her adopted daughter Maud.
The photo on the right is an enlargement of Emma from the photo on the left.
On the back of this photo are the words: "Left to right - front row Emma D. Smith - seated, far left Freeda Maud Smith (adopted daughter) Other Ladies - members of Ladies Auxiliary Civil War Veterans."
The originals of these photographs are in the possession of Emma's granddaughter, Leola Smith Chrysler. I made scanned image copies of them in February, 2001.
