Thank you to Dr. Donald Nuwer for providing a copy of this photograph and identifying the people in it. Dr. Nuwer wrote this note about the photo in a letter to me in December, 2000: "My mother had written just names on back and not date. The photo, incidentally, was on the back of a postcard, but no date. Amazing that these post-card photos held up so well."

Alice Smith has a copy of this same photograph on the back of a small postcard, with a note written by Anna Voegele (Schaefer) to her father and dated 1913. Anna's father Joseph Voegele does not appear in the photograph, and so perhaps he was out of town at the time.
