According to Rosemary O'Connor, who procured these records for microfilm, the marriage records for 1917-1957 were destroyed in a fire at a shrine at Our Lady of Peace Church. The parish priest of St Joseph's had taken the record book to Our Lady of Peace in order to perform a wedding there.
