News Flash: The
second annual
SOBR is scheduled for November 9, 2008.
This years proceeds will go to Doug Bryce who retired from the Midwest City
Police Department and has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. FOP

Steve Owens is a Sergeant with the Midwest City Police
Department. He was recently diagnosed with one of the most
aggressive malignant brain tumors. Once diagnosed, his
prognosis was very bleak. His doctors did not offer him
much hope of recovering. Steve, not one to give up,
continued to press doctors until his case was accepted by a
doctor at MD Anderson in Houston, TX.

This benefit run event was conceived by Lt Howard of the Midwest City
Police Department as a way to help Sgt Owens defray the high cost of
medical treatment and other cost associated with travel and
lodging. Sgt Owens needs all of his efforts devoted to
fighting this tumor instead of worrying about the financial well
being of his family.
Steve is now back to
full duty.
