Both are flash backs, They changed the colors in PRNS' flashback.

Both episodes have the same "Cold planet" plot.
But Hurricanger's explanation is that there's a vortex making the planet cold.

In Hurricanger, Choobo actually talks to Crimson about how Navy betrayed him.

Crimson sees the two kids that are also trapped on the island, they were in trouble with the smoke and Crimson jumps in the way and gets hit with the smoke.

The smoke pops out of nowhere.

Crimson's attack splits the screen making a nice transition to the Villain Hideout scene.
