First published in 1892, Stiles' 2-volume book is a thorough study of the "Windsors" (Windsor, East Windsor, South Windsor, Windsor Locks and Ellington) from 1635 to 1891. Vol. I deals with the towns' histories, while II focuses on the genealogy of many of the families. A 1976 facsimile edition, now out of print, was produced by New Hampshire Publ. Co.     Published by the South Windsor Historical Society in 1995, this slim volume gives a rich historical, architectural and genealogical tour of a mile of South Wind- sor's designated Historic District. A member of the SWHS, Mrs. Burgdorf is a meticulous researcher. The book is illustrated by her husband and her, with photographs by Carol Birden. Copies are available at South Windsor Town Hall.
This 1998 book was the third self-published by nonegenarian Barney E. Daley. It commemorates the 300th anniversary of the official recognition of Second Parish of Windsor, combining careful historical research with home- spun memories of a keen observer. Available at Wood Memorial Library for $25, including tax.
