Madeline is a profiler for Section One. Her primary function is to get inside the enemy's head and anticipate his next move whenever possible (Gambit, HHNF). Other duties include exacting the best performance possible from every one in Section (SS, TPR). Only infrequently has Madeline left Section on formal missions (Gambit, Rescue, LAC); her real power and best use is in-house. |

Her smooth manner and elegant demeanor provides balance to his volatile personality with her carefully controlled emotions (IO, SID, TET). We do not know how long Madeline has been with Section, but she speaks of events or people associated with Section in time frames of over a decade (IB, GOH). Madeline has an aged and senile mother who she last saw inside Section (PP). She also had a sister she admits to pushing down a flight of stairs to her death (Gambit, PP). She was married to Charles Sand (IB); no other marriages or family have been mentioned. She and Operations share some relationship, the exact nature of which isn’t clear although it appears they once participated in missions together (IO). |
