The enigmatic Michael Samuelle is Section One's top cold operative and team leader. He trained Nikita when she was first recruited (Nikita), frequently infuriating her with his seeming heartlessness. He is practical to the point of brutality (DV), although hints of humanity have been known to creep through his inscrutable exterior (Rescue, Mercy). Above all, he is incredibly competent at all aspects of his job--profiling, martial arts, marksmanship, strategy, and leadership. |
| Michael was brought into Section One because of the rebellious acts he participated in as a student in Paris (Half Life). Acknowledged as one of the best operatives in Section (Rescue, LN), he has trained hundreds of recruits (OBT) and accomplished deeds that seemed impossible to achieve (AGT, Season Four arc). | |

In his personal life, Michael has a sister (Half Life). He was married at least twice that we know of: once to fellow operative Simone (Simone), and once (simultaneously?) to Elena (Season Three arc), although his marriage to Elena was for purposes of a covert mission rather than love. Michael also fathered a child, Adam, with Elena. He was forced to remove himself from their lives once Section One eliminated Elena’s terrorist father (ONJ). Later, when Section once more used Elena’s unfortunate relationship to her notorious father, Michael tried...and ultimately failed...to protect her and Adam from a mysterious and sinister fate (KTPG). Although another child was alluded to (War), Michael denied his existence to Nikita (DV). |
