Susan Price Monnot is an
award-winning New
Orleans playwright whose plays have been performed in eight
states across the U.S. Susan's comedy, Dead Dogs
Don't Fart, won the 2006 Diverse Playwriting Contest
sponsored by the Hinton Battle Theatre Laboratory in New York
City. The play also won the 2005 21st Annual New Play Project (Backdoor
Theatre) and was a finalist in the Morton Sarett Playwriting
Competition in 2006.
Susan's drama, Where Time Is Money, has been performed by
five production companies in four different states. Her comedy, Snoring? Not Me!
was selected and performed in
the
New Play Festival at Gardner-Webb University, NC. Her
musical, Hearts,
produced by Prime Time Theatre Productions, was nominated for
the Storer Boone award and the Marquee award as
best original play performed in New Orleans in 2001.
Not Without Grandma was
performed at the New Orleans Contemporary Arts Center and also
at Metairie’s Carlone’s Dinner theatre in 2002. In 2003, Susan’s
Christmas Reflections was presented as a children’s Christmas
piece by OLPS Children’s Theatre. Cabin Fever was awarded an
honorable mention by the McLaren Memorial Comedy Play Writing
Competition in 2005 and received a cold
reading at the New Orleans Contemporary Arts Center. The
play was later
work-shopped in the Playwright’s Unit of New Orleans. A list of

Susan received her BA degree
from St. Mary’s Dominican college and her masters from the
University of New Orleans. Her music has been used for video
sound tracks, for multimedia applications, and for worship and
music education programs in Louisiana. Susan is a
member of The Playwrights’ Center and the Dramatists Guild
of America, and she makes her
home in Metairie, Louisiana. |
