Saiko Shihan Dr. Thomas E. Springs, II, is a Chief Certified Head Instructor, and Soke of System of SDSC Springs Takahaju, Inc. in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Dr. Springs was ranked 2nd Nationally in Taekwondo America's VIP Division, 1st in Sparring, and 2nd in Forms at the '95-'96 North Dakota Regional Tournament, 1st in Forms, and 2nd in Sparring at the '95-'96 Virginia Beach Nationals, and is a former United States Marine of 16 years.  Dr. Springs was inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame in March of 2000 The Year of the Dragon. Inducted again in 2002 and 2004, Dr. Springs was awarded Sokeship for the creation of the Takahaju System. Dr. Springs currently holds, DMS, DMA, & Ph.D./MA Degrees in Martial Arts. In July 2005 Dr. Springs was appointed State Director of the World Stunt Association. In September 2005 Dr. Springs received a Doctorate in Sciences of Martial Arts from FIMA University (First International Martial Arts University), and was appointed a member of the FIMA University Board of Directors. Dr. Springs is also a registered member of Police Tactics Instructors Of America.

It is our Philosophy to teach and instruct in a pressure free environment that will ensure that you the student Martial Artist or your children learn at their own pace. Our system is designed with an emphasis on Self Defense. The Takahaju System, while having roots in the Art of Taekwondo, is a combination of several Martial Arts developed to create a unique fighting and Self Defense Style. By definition the name means, 'The Art Of Many Arts'. Discipline, and self control are key ingredients in our training regimen. Martial Arts will increase your attention span, enhance your powers of concentration, while providing you with a great cardiovascular workout. You will definitely see an improvement in your children's, respect for authority, grades, and study habits. Adults will improve on concentration, patience, and self confidence. Our Instructional staff consists of 9 World Martial Arts Hall Of Fame Inductees, who are Certified Instructors, and 3 Assistant Instructors.
