~Death Of Sanity?~
You know, more and more these days, like so many of you out there in the world, I find myself in complete and utter confusion. It seems every time I listen to the news broadcasts, read the daily newspaper, or even surf the Internet news sites, some new atrocity has just occurred.
And every single time I listen, read, or view one of these atrocities, it is swiftly followed by someone else saying we need stronger gun control laws.
I can't begin to understand what could have gone wrong in the now numerous cities towns and communities in the United States where our own children are gunned down nor can I begin to fathom the utter pain and sorrow of the parents and families of the children lost in these attrocities. If only we, as responsible adults, would keep people away from the guns, we wouldn't have had such tragedies in our lives to contend with.
Certainly--it had to be the guns that are responsible for all that is wrong with the world today, isn't it?
It couldn't have been because we allow our children to watch massive hours of television filled with the hot, hip and "happening" shows today. After all, these shows really are only glorifying sex as nothing more than something to do to pass the time of day no matter if you really know the person you're having sex with or not. No matter that these same television shows center on taking a gun and blowing an adversary's brains out for something as simple as arguing over a video game. It doesn't matter that we, as responsible persons, aren't coherent enough to demand better quality in our viewing privileges. It's much easier to plop a child down in front of the television set and wander off for our own little joys in life isn't it? It can't possibly be because we, as the adults who set the examples from which our children watch and learn how to live their own lives merely turn our heads and wag our tongues and say "I just can't believe this (or that)" when we see the myriad horrific blood filled visions taking over our televisions during commercials advertising the latest and most "dramatic horror event of the year" and almost in the same breath say "well the kids will see it eventually regardless if I'm there or not" and then dismiss the twinge which churns our very own stomach just from seeing the commercials...
We, as parents, give all of our children plenty of quality time, don't we?
With far more than half of our children in the population of the United States being raised today in broken homes, daycare programs whose employees are only there to make certain blood isn't spilled, or letting our kids simply wander the streets where the laws of the jungle only apply, couldn't possibly have anything to do with this. By the average statistic, spending that quality amount of time of all of 30 seconds in meaningful conversation with our children per day fills the bill. Doesn't it?
Horrible crimes hitting our schools, streets, and lives can't be the direct result of countless hours of upbringing in a virtual computer generated world of games; the sole purpose of which is to kill as many opponents as possible in the most sadistic, blood thirsty and most vile ways possible and many games rolling out this very day giving the player the option of raping their victims before killing them, or stealing and looting from the streets which we just turned to ash by unleashing myriads of incomprehensible weapons to ramp up that video score.
It can't possibly be because our children have become so spoiled with materialistic gain and pigeon holed into believing "more is better, no matter how you get it", replacing the true meaning of love between parent and child.
It can't possibly be because we give teenage criminals a minimum sentence in juvenile hall for killing other children, raping their peers, or maiming each other. Heck, after their time is served in "the hall", their records are sealed like nothing happened anyway.
It can't be because we teach our children there are no laws of morality that transcend us, that everything is relative and that actions don't have consequences.
Could it really be because we've replaced human compassion and decency with indignation and contempt?
Could it be we've replaced rationalization and talking problem out completely with utilizing violence to achieve goals and wants?
It can't be that we've replaced tolerance with with inhumanity.
It can't possibly be because we no longer view our children as a blessing, but simply as mistakes conceived from the failure of the latest contraceptive.
It can't be because religion has been replaced with VCR's, video games, computers and the Internet, and the latest end-cap magazines.
It can't be because we have instilled the new philosophy of "if something doesn't work for you and you can't take it by force, simply get rid of it" approach.
It can't possibly be because our morals, as a whole, have gone to hell in a hand basket can it?
No, it can't really
be any of these reasons can it. It must only be the guns.
When
are we, as supposed responsible
adults, going to rise up in a single voice and say enough is
enough? This nation has shown an absolute and utter contempt for
life itself not only by our inaction in actually raising the offspring
we so willing produce, but also in allowing the standard of life to
become so quagmired in absolute filth we even let our own government
who supposedly works for the people--continue to pursue and push
forward with the very things we find the most contemptuous
atrocities. There isn't an actual certified poll published in any
newspaper, television production, or Internet site which clearly shows
we do not want our people fighting overseas as they do. We have
all been driven to the edge of near insanity itself by watching in
horror as two of the jewels of this nation’s cities were laid
waste--the first of which was clearly on September 11th, 2001 but then
we allowed it to only go from a terrible, horrible tragedy in New York
City to a full blown and outrageous atrocity the likes of which no
nation on the face of the entire planet has ever seen a worse or slower
movement by the nation’s very own government to rush aid and whatever
assistance was necessary to the region that was completely obliterated
and not even capable of sustaining any semblance of life--and this
isn't only New Orleans I'm speaking of. The vast majority of the
Gulf Coast itself was devastated. The numbers of dead have still
not been fully calculated and most likely never will be. Entire
families were ripped from their homes and shipped to any number of
emergency evacuation shelters into other states and literally no one
was given a choice as to where they were being sent. Many of the
displaced had no idea of where they even were when they were dumped off
the busses, planes and transports they were shipped away in. Many
families have still, to this day, been unable to fully reunite.
In the mean time, the cities most affected in Louisiana and Mississippi
are still nothing short of wastelands.
Every single person who lives
in the United States is at fault for
this. Every single one of us.
We are the very ones who buy
the violent media and feed it to our
children. We buy the televisions, pay the cable and satellite
bills which pumps so many different horrific things for our youngest
children to watch but we don't have the time to sit and see for
ourselves what we allow the electronic baby sitters to show our very
children. We are the very ones who elect our governing members
into offices and then those of us who actually bothered to vote, then
turn around and wash our hands of actually governing those who govern
and find it so much easier to sit and simply gripe about the way these
people are doing in government because it makes for interesting and
heated debates to have over drinks or dinner with friends. We all
feel twinges of heartfelt sorrows for the people who suffer in our very
own country then pick up the phone, order a pizza and pop in a movie
and put the morbidity of what we had just felt only minutes before
completely out of our minds because well, the truth is, it didn't
happen to us personally did it? And if we happen to meet a person
on the street who is displaced from the southern states we extend our
condolences, but we never ask the question "How can we make this
better?"
We have the coalitions
representing African Americans bantering for
apologies for atrocities performed so far in the past that few, if any,
are still alive who may have actually had anything to do with this
terrible time in history to begin with. They are pouring untold
sums of money into political battles, press conferences, fliers,
rallies, marches and what ever else time consuming but useless affair
can be generated and in the most provocative way to get the most
attention from the press. But when, exactly, have they offered to
pick up a hammer, grab a bag of nails and ask where the next exit is to
get to the Interstate to head south for helpful visits? We have
churches who have the audacity to claim they are fighting for
"Christian" values who march on fallen soldiers funerals to make a
statement of their contempt for allowing homosexuals in the
military--no matter at all that while they are marching around a
cemetery during the funeral procession of the soldier, the husbands or
wives, the children, the mothers, the father, the nieces, nephews,
cousins, brothers, sisters, friends--all try quietly to lay their
deceased loved one in their final resting place and try to mentally
block out the hate filled rants of these tyrannical people behind
them--all in the name of "keeping our military pure.”
Purity. An all
"straight" military. A military we have
engaged in activities the vast majority of the people of this country
want ended, and truth be told we never wanted to begin with.
Instead of marching on the funerals of our fallen heroes, why don't you
pick up a shovel and rake and find the closest home of an elderly
resident of your very own community and asking if you can help them
with their yard work? How about weeding and replanting flower
beds around the town square? How about volunteering at the local
nursing centers to visit with people who are in their last days on this
earth but still alive and in such desperate need just to have another
person in the same room with them who asks the simple question "What's
on your mind today?". And just one more thought on this subject
for all of the church groups out there who have the agenda on their
hands of destroying and stamping out the evils of homosexuality--if you
want to pray to God for something, how about praying to God and ask him
to forgive your selfishness, ignorance, bigotry, narrow vision and the
pure loathsome evils which fall from your lips as you spit on the
coffin of the dead then smear dirt on top of that and smile while the
mother, father, family or dearly loved ones of the person in that
coffin watch with the tears in their own eyes. Then perhaps when
you may actually find the day to realize how utterly possessed you
truly are with evil yourselves, maybe then you can ask God for the
forgiveness of the many words and actions you caused not only this
persons family of the funeral you so trivialized with the rantings and
songs of a true idiot--you might just want to seek forgiveness for all
the things you've said which have most likely touched a truly loved
family member of your own who are most likely homosexual themselves and
having to live with the constant knowledge if they ever truly attempted
to live their life in the way God made them and lose the fear of
finding love and having a happy life while they exist on this planet
with a person they can truly love, cherish and honor who happens to be
the same sex as they are themselves--maybe, just maybe, your own soul
can actually find peace within yourself. And believe
me--statistically, every single family on the face of this great planet
Earth has a member who is homosexual themself and they carry the same
DNA and genetic codes as you do yourself. Homosexuality is not a
choice you completely unbelievable and unspeakably hideous
poison. If it were a choice, then why would we choose to live in
a world in hiding and complete and utter fear from the very likes of
you?
You know? It also occurs
to me a certain political party which
rose to power in Europe spilled the same toxicity in sayings, chanting
and "In the name of God" as you do now. Maybe you should consider
the swastika on arm bands and get rid of the signs you wave in the
air. I'm sure an armband would be so much easier to manage and
I'm just as sure you’re not having to wave that sign around all day
would be so much easier on the tension in your neck and shoulders--but
then again maybe that is actually what makes you so pathetic to begin
with--stress-swollen muscle and tendons in the neck can cause decreased
blood flow to the brain and this in turn can result in several
different medical problems accounting for psychosis. If this
could be the case, you might want to check in your community for the
"gay couple" who live in the house on some street there--I'm sure they
have a hot tub on the back patio they would be happy to allow you to
use to help you relax.
Oh but don't let me hear
"that's right!" from any of you in the gay
community either. All that money our community pumps into gay
pride parades, festivals, meeting parties, theater tickets, clothes,
shoes, the greatest cars and that hot tub on the back patio?
Guess what? There are homeless people living on the streets of
your very city you live in. How about moving money where it needs
to go and trying to just flip the finger at the next person who screams
obscene words at you from their car window? Have you ever
considered that? It seems to me that most every single person who
is gay at some point realized when the school bully stopped getting
attention, the school bully tended to simply vanish. If the
bullies simply won't go away, how about turning our attention back to
the communities in which we live and making the community better?
How about helping communities recover from plagues they don't even
realize they have? Poverty, homelessness, drug addicts, the
elderly, the HIV and those who are living their days with AIDS who are
being shunned by their own family and friends--how about reaching out
to them? Have we EVER heard of the concept of leading by
example? Or better yet, find out when there may be a group which
will be in your area to begin bashing the gays in a public setting to
get their attention they so desperately want? I don't care if
you're Christian yourself or if you worship UFO's that steal cattle
from the fields--slap a white gown on, dawn some wings on your back,
lock all of your hands together and build a wall of gays to stop that
groups march in its tracks and refuse to say a single word or utter one
single phrase. I would be willing to bet my life on the fact that
if a community hears about something such as this about to happen
within a fifty to 100 mile radius of where you live yourself, and if
every gay within that radius showed up in an angel costume and locked
hands to protest, I would be perfectly comfortable with saying the
numbers who would show to counter the vicious attacks combined with the
number of heterosexual supporters who refuse to let this happen to you
in their hometown as well would be nothing less than an astounding and
jaw dropping expose for the entire world. Or, like everyone else
in the world, is it just simply to sit with a group of friends and
complain about things like this happening than to take a stand?
Do you feel guilty in the slightest knowing your answer is most like a
“yes” to that question?
This country is being consumed
from the inside out by a cancer fueled
by egocentrism--the blacks still hate the whites, the Christians still
hate the gays, the Jewish community, the Pagan community. We have
anti-government groups hating the politicians who in turn hate anyone
who even thinks to question their personal stands on any issue and who
have simply forgotten to ask their own personal constituents what
exactly it is they actually want. As a politician, the general
rule now is to vote in the direction of what will gain the most overall
approval from all of the other politicians and whatever corporations
who make fat deposits in campaign contributions want. I doubt
most really understand the concept of "constituent" to begin
with. The Pagans and Jewish communities hate the
Christians. Thankfully the Pagans seem to love the gays so at
least there is something to begin trying to reform public thinking
with. At this point--anything would be a better start than what
group can out hate the other.
Answer to Question 2:
Answer to Question 1:Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt
Candidate B is Winston Churchill
Candidate C is Adolph Hitler
If you answered "Yes, I would recommend an abortion for this pregnant woman.", you just killed Beethoven.
