Late in 1993 I got a job in Alexandria, VA at a company called Washington International Teleport and lived in the town of Woodbridge. In May 1994 I decided to join the Reserves, but as the Naval Reserve had no related open positions, I decided on the Air National Guard, and worked at the 231st Combat Communications Squadron, DC ANG at Andrews AFB. Although I liked the people and the job, I got too homesick (especially around winter...and ice storms!) and moved back to San Diego in late 1996 and became a member of the 147th Combat Communications Squadron, CA ANG, where I still serve at my current rank of Master Sergeant (E-7). Spent 3 weeks in Saudi Arabia back in the spring of 2000, and spent 3 months in Kuwait in the fall of 2002. CIVILIAN AFFAIRS I am an electronics/engineering technician, with an AA degree in Electronics and Computer Technology, and an AA degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, from Palomar College in San Marcos, California, where I became a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Scholastic Honors Fraternity. I also hold an AAS degree from the Community College of the Air Force. I graduated from California State University San Marcos after the Fall 2007 semester (magna cum laude) with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - High Technology Management, and currently work as a GS-11 temp with the Air National Guard. |
