How I spent my 31st Birthday

My 1981 Isuzu truck has been making more knocking noises than usual and puffing out more grey smoke than black. I got a new car a month ago because I knew it wouldn't last much longer. My brother said it would be really easy to fix. "Just take the engine out and replace the fetzer valve ball bearings." Four days and 25 hours of work later and I finally got it out. The truck is in so many pieces, I don't think I could ever get it back together again, my brother David will give it a try. It's hard to give up on a vehicle once you name it. The truck was named Suzi, which naturally, comes from Isuzu. Click on her name for an amusing page.

With all that fun stuff out of the way (I did all the work at the auto hobby shop at the Navy base, so it must have been fun), I spent a couple hours getting my hands cleaned for dinner. Some friends met us at El Torrito. Here are some pictures. The lovely and talented Tracy Brune wrote the wonderful poem below. I really think she could go into business writing poetry. She wrote a poem for her husband Dan's Birthday, and it made me love him too just from reading it!

I guess you can say she really has an eye for poetry!
