January 28, 2006 Non-STAR GatheringThe next gathering of the non-STAR group will be a pot luck at the home of Mark and Joyce Alfred on Saturday, January 28th. They live at 2917 SW 50th St. Come anytime after 6PM. Call Mark at 317-4994 with questions. Any fans are welcome (kids too).

Just got an email from Mark letting me know that a couple of people at the SoonerCon committee meeting asked him why the STAR OKC web site isn't being updated. Simple. There is no more STAR OKC. Currently the few of us who still meet once or twice a month refer to ourselves as the non-STAR bunch. We don't really have meetings. We just get together for a movie and dinner after. Sometimes we meet up at someone's house for food, games or a movie. Children are welcome at most of these get-togethers unless we meet at someone's house that isn't kid proof.
Most of active OKC fandom now heads over to another group for their fannish fun: www.fanarchy.org. Contact information is located at their web site along with information about how you can become a member of Fanarchy.
As for non-STAR, we no longer have requirements for membership. Mark likes to make the non-STAR gatherings open to all and everyone is welcome. That said, Mark will be announcing non-star get-togethers here on a semi-regular basis. He also posts regularly to the STAR OKC Yahoo group.
