There are many things to do during your stay on Beaver Lake,
both on the water and off. I have outlined some of the activities I
enjoy or know about in the area and helpful links to information on these
activities.
Beaver Lake -
US Army Corps of Engineers web site.
- Water sports - During the warmer months visitors enjoy
what attracts most people to Beaver Lake, being on the water!
Whether you enjoy fishing, boating, sailing, waterskiing, scuba or
whatever, Beaver Lake is the place to be.

- Starkey

- Fishing Guides
- Trout fishing on the White River - If your idea of
fishing turns more to wading in search of a lunker trout, you will
find the area below the dam of Beaver Lake appealing. This
area is only 15 to 20 minutes east.
- Roaring River State Park - Although it is a Missouri State
Park, it is only 15 to 20 minutes away. Roaring River is a
spring fed river which comes out of the ground in the park.
There is a trout hatchery there and trout are released into the river
daily. Trout fishing in the river is fun for young and old
alike. Really good restaurant at the park, especially great
breakfasts. Try the blueberry pancakes!
- Eureka Springs - Great shopping in this quaint
Victorian town.
- Branson, MO -
Great shows, Silver
Dollar City theme park, water parks, outlet malls and about every
other tourist attraction you can imagine.
- Pea Ridge National Military Park
- Site of Historic Civil War battle. Located 2 miles west of
Garfield. Pea Ridge Military

- Hiking

Fishtrap Trail in Lost Bridge South Park requires
about 30 minutes walking time about 1/3 mile in length. It extends a
short distance uphill to a level bench on the hillside leading to a
long overhanging bluff. The bluff is typical of the many such shelters
of prehistoric bluff-dwelling Indian tribes. This trail is rated as
moderate in difficulty.
Lost Bridge Hiking Trail in Lost Bridge North Park winds
about five miles through a heavily wooded area with an abundance of
scenic attractions, bluff overlooks, and sandstone--limestone
outcroppings. Interpretive displays along the trail explain pond
ecology and the lifestyle of rural families of a bygone area. This
trail is rated as moderate in difficulty.
Dogwood Trail in Dam Site Lake
Park spans two miles of relatively steep terrain. As the name
suggests, flowering dogwood trees abound throughout the area.
Spectacular overlooks, beautiful geographic features, and one of the
largest bluff shelters found on Beaver Lake await you along the trail.
This trail is rated as difficult.
- Northwest Arkansas Area - The 4
county area of Northwest Arkansas is home to a population of 300,000 , the
worlds largest retail corporation (Wal-Mart), a nationally recognized university
(The University of Arkansas)
and many other opportunities. For more information on activities
in Northwest Arkansas, visit the web site
