The Mission of the Religious Education Program
Our Mission is to introduce the Catholic heritage of Scripture, doctrine, liturgy and tradition to our young people through lectionary-based catechesis and sacramental preparation programs. The goal is to assist parents in bringing the Gospel message of Jesus alive in their homes and their children's lives.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES Grades 1-8
Classes are held at Saint Margaret School on Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m.
A two-year preparation program to receive the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Reconciliation begins in Grade 1. Students receive the Sacraments in the spring of their second grade year.
First Communion is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 24, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Parents of 2nd graders will be contacted when meetings are scheduled.
PREPARATION FOR THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION
Confirmation I Candidates
Classes for students in Grade 9 are held on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m.or Sundays mornings at 8:45 a.m. New students must contact Mr. Moreira at 435-4755 for placement in the class.
Confirmation II Candidates
All students enrolled in the Confirmation II program will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation at 7:00 p.m. on November 4, 2002. The Most Rev. Robert McManus, Auxiliary Bishop of Providence will be the principal celebrant.
