Sister Elizabeth Gorman, S.N.D.

Notre Dame Sister Elizabeth R. Gorman, a native of St. Theresa Parish, Providence entered her congregation on August 4, 1948 and pronounced her vows on January 30, 1951. Sister Elizabeth began her teaching career in Brighton, Massachusetts in 1951 as a sixth grade teacher. In 1954 she was assigned to St. Ann's School, Cranston until 1958. After teaching in various schools in Connecticut, Sister Elizabeth returned to St. Ann's in 1968 to begin another five years as a teacher and principal. In 1972, she was assigned to Cranston-Johnston Catholic Regional School as a teacher until 1976 and then served as principal, followed by one more year as a teacher at St. Kevin School, Warwick. From 1978-1992 Sister Elizabeth served as CCD coordinator and pastoral assistant at St. Joseph's Church in Pascoag. Currently Sister is the pastoral assistant at St. Margaret Church in Rumford.
