November 2002 Updates

11/26/02 Update

Well, it has been a rough week...

Marie fell off her chair during lunch yesterday. She hit her head on the tile floor. We didn't think she hit it that hard but an hour later she started throwing up and was really tired. We were in the ER for 6 hours yesterday.  She threw up most of that time.  Thankfully the CT scan showed no broken bone or bleeding in the brain. Just a concussion. She seems fine now, but we had to wake her up every 2 hours last night to make sure she seemed well. Very scary, but good outcome.  She just wanted to be like her brother and try that CT scan thing.

Bill has been hit hard by strep.  He really gets wiped out and seems to catch it every time it is going around.

Ben did not need his transfusion on Friday, but he will need one soon.  His hemoglobin just keeps dropping from the chemo.

Everybody is coming in on Thursday for Thanksgiving, we are excited.

Ben's Run is growing like crazy.  The team is working very hard to make it all happen.  Channel 3 interviewed us last week.  Yesterday, a teacher friend of Bill's mother, Carol Christner, told us she was able to get two autographed boxing gloves from Mohammed Ali - she lives near him in Michigan.  Very exciting.  Tell your boxing fan friends.  Also check out the silent auction list.

11/20/02 Update

Ben's hemoglobin counts have slowly been dropping over the past six months, it looks like he will have to get a blood transfusion on Friday.

11/15/02 Update

Ben took his first three steps today - what a big surprise!  Mama & Dada were looking at him and he just decided to take three steps.  He has not repeated this feat, but he seems ready.

11/11/02 Update

Ben is getting chemo this week!  His counts are OK.

One of Carolyn's friends visited from Colorado.  Here is Ben and four month old Alex hanging out...

11/4/02 Update

No chemo this week.  Ben's counts are too low.

Ben is getting so close to walking.  For some reason he loves bread and is eating a ton of crackers, french toast, waffles and Cheerios.

Here is Ben's first birthday picture!  We are so happy to be at this milestone.
