There are only two worlds-your world, which is the real world, and other worlds, the fantasy.  Worlds like this are worlds of the human imagination:  their reality, or lack of reality, is not important.  What is important is that they are there.  These worlds provide an alternative.  Provide an escape.  Provide a threat.  Provide a dream, and power; provide refuge, and pain.  They give your world meaning.  They do not exist; and thus they are all that matter.
-The Books of Magic, by Neil Gaiman

In Memorium  Hello!  This is a review web site devoted primarily to Science Fiction and Fantasy novels. Many of these novels are parts of a series or a shared setting:  I'll try to fill in appropriate background into the reviews, but some knowledge of the setting doesn't hurt.  The site tends to lean more on the fantasy side of the equation more than the science fiction side-but by no means do I ignore science fiction!

Some of these books will be newly released (at least as of review time).  Some have been around for awhile.  The reason for this is simple:  at a weekly schedule, I'd have to review 52 new books a year.  That's a lot of books, and I do see some slow times-unless I expand to reviewing all the monthly Star Trek novels!  So I'm liable to review some that have been around for a while, but are in my own somewhat humble opinion always worth the read.
