Mission

The Giving Circle of HOPE helps people in need in Northern Virginia by issuing annual grants and participating in ongoing & one-time service projects.

Goals

  • make a difference in the community by contributing time, talents and monetary resources

  • encourage community among ourselves and those we serve

  • increase public awareness of local needs

  • encourage self sufficiency and well-being among those in need

  • promote volunteerism and effective philanthropy

  • build a network that is a catalyst for positive change

What is a Giving Circle?

Giving circles are a new trend in philanthropy. Like an investment club, members combine their resources and collectively decide how to use them to impact a specific cause or interest area. Giving circles provide a rewarding experience for donors as well as recipients. By joining with like-minded individuals, there is greater power to create change and make a meaningful difference in the community. Giving circles make philanthropy accessible to people who are at different income levels and stages of their careers and lives—in other words, you don’t have to be a millionaire to be a philanthropist.

Quotation of the Month

Generosity is a principle, not an amount.
