Monsoon 2006 Photos Album

After one of the hottest Junes on record (several days with highs above 110), the month of July has been very different. The seasonal wind change, otherwise known as the Monsoon started on July 2nd. Typically the Monsoon brings in a lot of moisture in the form of massive and damaging thunderstorms.  These storms not only produce heavy winds which is accompanied by blowing dust but very heavy (1-2 inches) of rain within in 1-2 hours. In additon, these storms bring cooler temperatures (barley above 100 this week) but with dramatic increase in humidity.

All Pictures Taken at San Cierra or near/along Arizona Ave (AZ 87) in Chandler, AZ.
