Joes 2003 Alaska and Hawaii Trip to see the Kids
On to Alaska first

goto home

Joe left very earlier than most men wake. He had to be up at 3am to be on time at the airport and allow for the usual security thing. I laid over in Seattle and than on to Anchorage. The trip up afforded me the most spectacular view of the Canadian Rockies all the inland bays and mountain mix all the way thru Canada. As I got closer to Alaska the very dark black green of the Rockies turned into the whitest snow covering layer on layer of crisp mountains for as as the eye could see at 37,000 ft. God what a view. There was this precious little 4 year old that was begging to look out the window and her and I shared the view for over 500 miles. As we got into Alaska we came in from the east and I got to see all the mountains east of where Melissa and Garrett live. I even saw their housing area as we flew about 10-15 miles south to the loop into the airport. As I was flying low over the bay coming into the airport you could see it was low tide and the glistening mud of the bay and the deep rivulet's from the draining water of the tide. Melissa and I got back to the house early after I arrived so we took a hike at a park near the bay that Melissa liked. It was a very nice hike and chat.

Duck's just done doing a duck butt salute.

Mud flats of Seward Bay at low tide - very sticky and gushy and dangerous!

Alyeska Mountain View - ski area to the right in the peaks!

Alyeska River View - low tide and the river is Raging!

Now the graduation "Pinning" Ceremony

Joe is traveling and is currently in Alaska visiting Melissa for her graduation from Nursing school. He is doing a round-robin trip to see both Melissa and Chandra. Beth was very sick prior to the trip and cost prevented her from coming. We missed her and she's in our thoughts. I'll be home soon and I'm being good. Spending quality time with Melissa while here.

Yo Ya'll ... Dad's here too!

As can be seen in every outdoor photo the weather was 5 days of the clearest Blue skies that Anchorage could ever produce.

How could it ever get better!

Well off to see Chandra in the second half of the trip.

Congratulations Melissa welcome to the working world and your new adventures... We all love you.
