Quadraphonic Discography CLASSICAL RECORDINGS

This list was created out of the need to help owners with Matrixed surround and Quadraphonic decoders find material made for decoding. These recordings will also benefit owners of other matrix surround sound decoders (Circle sound, Dolby ) by providing front and rear information that your decoder can do more with than a stereo recording (although you will not hear exactly what the engineer intended, the experience is still quite pleasing). This is not a complete list. Information about radio broadcasts (Old Rolling Stone magazines from the era advertised Quadraphonic broadcasts) and any media using Quadraphonic sound is greatly appreciated and encouraged. Country of origin has been listed to help in the search of a recording. Catalog numbers apply only to the country of origin. However, it should not be assumed the recording was only available in that country.

For additions to this list, include:

1. Artist
2. Title of album
3. Record label
4. Catalog number
5. Quadraphonic format (QS, SQ, CD4, UMX)
6. Format (LP (vinyl), Q8 (Quad 8-track, QR (quad reel to reel) 
     since catalog numbers change w/format
7. Add a D in front of the tape format code listed above if Dolby
     was used on the tape.
8. Country of origin (U.S., U.K, Finland, etc.) since catalog
   numbers change with country of origin       
9.  Year of release
10. Any comments that might be helpful like who distributes the
   recording and address and phone number if known.

	    disc version was produced in quad only, no comparable
	    stereo release was made.
	    All other disc releases were produced in seperate stereo
	    and quad versions as far as we know today.
	    All matrix encoded tapes are quad only with no seperate
	    stereo release.
	    Its possible that some of the quad only titles have made their
	    onto the compact disc format.
