Hello and welcome to Baby's German's little corner of the cyber world. Joey and I received a huge surprise in October of last year. The first part of the surprise was finding out that Joey was indeed CORRECT. For those interested, here is the story...

I have never been the most -regular- person in the world so when Joey started teasing me about being pregnant even before I missed my first period I was like 'oh yea.. whatEVER' One night while he was out of town I decided to stop and pick up a pregnancy test. Well wal-mart just happen to have them on sale and I wasn't about to leave a free one on the shelf so I ended up with 4 (Two pack, buy one get one free). I came home and made a beeline for the bathroom. I read the instructions carefully (be mindful of this progression) and set out to pee on the first test strip well that lil sucker showed two lines a glowing pink color before I got the stick outta the stream good. My first thought was 'ok Kristi you read the instructions wrong.. First line shows the test is working properly then there should be TWO lines in the second window to indicate a positive'. Tossed that lil lying bugger in the trash can and grabbed the directions, after reading them for the SECOND time I decided that first test strip was faulty and I should try the second one in that pack. Surprise surprise same two little lines. I swear to you my thought process was 'ok Kristi you read something wrong' I got up and REREAD the instructions for what was then the THIRD time. 'Hmmm toss that lil liar in the trash can' I opened the second package because obviously that entire package was faulty. Well wouldn't ya know the third one showed them same pesky two pink lines. "clank in the trash with the other two and BACK to reading the instructions AGAIN" By this time I had decided the problem was I was reading the wrong instructions, I had been reading the ones from the first package, the faulty package so I pulled out the instructions from the new box and read THEM. I know if anyone had been watching they would have had me committed. After peeing on the third stick only to have two bring pink lines staring me in the face I decided the problem was it was late at night and I needed 'first morning urine' (well its what they always say...) I decided to go to bed and when I woke up the next morning I would use the last test strip. Well I managed to stay in that bed all of 10 minutes before I was back up and on the potty peeing on my last strip. At this point reality set in and I fell apart. I called Joey at work, couldn't reach him, ended up leaving a message. He called me near hysterical wanting to know "What's WRONG" Keep in mind by this point its like 3am. I couldn't quit crying and he was nearing hysterics before I finally managed to squeak out 'I am pregnant' He YELLED "OH HELL YEA" and here I am sobbing my eyes out. He quickly recovered with a 'I mean.. err.. its gonna be ok baby'. My hysterics lasted until I talked to Dr Macik (the surgeon that performed my gastric-bypass) the next morning. After talking to him and getting the green light its been nothing but joy and excitement. Ok so that is a bit of a stretch:) I got into see my ob fairly quickly only to discover that my surprises weren't over just yet. Turns out I was pregnant with not one but TWO. Now that will make your mouth drop if nothing will!

My first trimester was.. well lets just say eventful. I had what I like to call clockwork night sickness. No need to carry a watch. Kristi's in the bathroom with her head in the toilet.. oops must be 8.00. Which made life very interesting considering 5 days out of the week at 8.00 my rapidly spreading ass is somewhere in front of a dartboard. To give you an update we lost one of the twins but sometimes things happen for a reason. With the added complications of my gastric bypass surgery that may have been for the best. We know have a VERY healthy baby growing all safe and snug in her own space. I am into my second trimester now and things are improving daily. Its true what they say, this is the honeymoon of the pregnancy. The fatigue has started to ween, my sex drive is back, and best of all the night sickness is gone (knock on wood).

Oh btw, that wonderful sound you are hearing is
Jordyn's err.. baby German's heartbeat!!

I am going to add ultrasound pictures as soon as I can get them scanned so check back :-)
