Purpose

Ye Society of Genealogy is organized and operated under the auspices of the South Windsor Senior Center and in association with the South Windsor Historical Society and the Wood Memorial Library, South Windsor, CT.  Its purposes are to research, collect, catalog and disseminate genealogical and related historical information. It shall encourage and aid the education of people of all ages interested in family history. It is a service organization to assist various town departments and to promote, coordinate and associate with similar societies.

Membership

Membership is open to anyone interested in family research. Active membership may be issued when an individual attends three meetings of of six consecutive meetings. Active members must attend five meetings per calendar year to continue active membership for the following year.

Meetings

Regular meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. at the Charles N. Enes Community Center, 150 Nevers Rd., South Windsor, CT. Scheduled meetings for 2009 are Jan. 20, Feb. 17, March 17, April 21, May 19, June 16, July 21, August 18, Sept. 15, Oct. 20, Nov. 17, and Dec. 15. Meetings are cancelled whenever the South Windsor Senior Center is closed.

Officers

Officers for 2009-10 are Liz Hebert, president; Dick Warner, vice president; Jim Reardon, treasurer; and Bobbi Duzak, executive and corresponding secretary.
