This cemetery sits diagonally across Rye Street from the Jemmy
Bissell homestead,
which is a two-story brick colonial inhabited by a descendant of
the Bissells.
It was said that Mrs. Bissell had her husband buried across the
street in this place so
she could "keep an eye on him."
(The cemetery is a good sized fenced in plot with the graves
taking up less than a third of the area with a large space -about
30 paces- between the first stone in back and the rest up near the
front of the area. The stones face west except for where noted.
Most of the stones are white marble; the brownstones are noted.)
