Stock Manufacture Date
You can find the date that your stock was made by removing the buttplate and checking the numbers stamped into the wood.
The Roman Numerals will determine the month, the two digits are the year.
This stock was made in August (VIII = 8th month) of 1943.
The date the stock was made can be months or years before the rifle was mated with it. This stock came off a rifle that is dated 1944.
