Costs & Expenes

 

Donated Boats

The boats are donated by people who believe in the benefits of this program.  All leaders are volunteers and unpaid for their time.  In addition the leaders often donate funds for many expenses which are not reimbursed.

However, there are some costs in running the Ship must be contributed to by members.

 

Your Costs

A cost of $20.00 for all members is charged yearly.  This amount is subject to change as the actual costs are later determined.  (About $10.00 of this is paid annually to the BSA for their membership fees.  The balance is used for other various expenses.)  

 

All participants must supply their own life vest (PDF Type I, II or III). 

Life Vests are available for from local stores or online at costs of $20.00 and up.  Many very comfortable and safe life vests can be found for less than $30.00.  A light weight vest that allows maximum movement is suggested. 

 

All participants MUST wear an approved Life Jacket while sailing. 

 

Leader Costs

Adult Advisors will be charged $10.00 per year.  (This is to pay for the BSA Registration Fee.  Additional donations are always accepted.)
