The Thorndike-Barnhart dictionary defines genealogy as the following:
ge ne al o gy 1. account of the descent of a person or family from an ancestor or ancestors. 2. descent of a person or family from an ancestor; pedigree; lineage. 3. the making or investigation of accounts of descent; study of pedigrees
Do you know who your Ancestors are? It
is important that you do. Generations of people have lived and died, and
these people are directly responsible for the places and ways we live our lives
today. Some people decide to learn their ancestry simply because they wish
to know where they came from. Decendency may be important to some to learn
their genetic history, either for medical reasons, or for answering questions of
heritage. Some may wish to find their families, as to renew the bonds that
only blood relations can provide. Perhaps you came from a noble line?
Perhaps you are related to a great war general? Maybe a movie star is your
cousin? Genealogy is the science to prove where you came from, and we are
the people who can provide you that information. For some of you, we will
be able to prove your bloodlines for a few generations. Our own ancestry
has been traced back to the days of ancient Greece! Can we do the same for
you? We won't know unless you ask.
Oct. 5th, 2004, we will be making a trip to the NPRC in St. Louis, MO. If you are looking for that military documentation, this is the perfect opportunity to find it! Contact us with your requests!!
