The show on November 21 is rained out. Our next show is on November 28 starting at 12 NOON. There will be forms at the entry booth for members to fill out designating which awards they want to receive. Please be sure that we have your correct phone number and email address so that we can notify you when the awards come in which usualy takes about 10 weeks. You do NOT have to be a member to ride and win daily awards but you must be a member to accumulate points and receive any year-end awards. No points earned before dues are paid will be counted.
This year you ONLY NEED 24 entry credits to earn a Membership Buckle or another award of your choice. Members must enter at least 4 of our 5 points shows to receive year-end awards.
We received a very generous donation from Mr. Michael Dougherty for sponsorship in the show. We are looking for more people to sponsor more events.
We asked people to take a survey at the show on April 4. Only 12 people responded to the survey which was disappointing but it gave us an idea of what people wanted in the shows. Note: We did not have judged events so no judged event people were there to respond. Results of the survey are:

Since we are only having 5 points shows this year, we can not afford to have the same awards that we had when we had 14 shows a year so we are asking members to voluntarily sponsor a class of their choice for about $50 and that each sponsored class would have a nice high point buckle at years end but unsponsored classes would have a much more inexpensive award.
Please send us your email address if we do not have it so that we may notify you of the events this year.
Sometimes when a show gets rained out our riders find other things to do.
We did not have a Halloween show at Pointe Celeste in 2008. This photo was taken of the arena at Pointe Celeste on September 21,2008 a while after Hurricane Ike. It remained flooded for a long time after this.
The South Louisiana Saddle Club held their Halloween Fun Show at the Pointe Celeste Theraupeutic Riding Center on October 27,2007. The weather was ideal and it turned out to be the largest Fun Show that we have had. Contributions from many generous sponsors generated about $3000.00 worth of awards and prizes that were given out during the show. No one went home empty-handed.

Have you heard about the Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society? It is a humane society in Texas that puts on virtual horse shows online and the proceeds go to help the horses, mules and donkeys of BEHS. I entered my horse Tally's colt, Gold Bar Cody, in a large yearling halter class and won 1st place. They mail you a nice rosette for 1st place and ribbons for 2nd through 5th places and even if you don't win the money goes to a worthy cause supporting our best friends. We need all of our STALL OF FAME winners to send us some info to put on their web pages. They all have special web pages but we do not have enough info about the horses or riders on most of the pages because this info must be provided by the winners.
