IN THE BEGINNING.........
On our first day of moving from
Pretty Oaks, we loaded the entry booth and prepared for the move.
And on the
second day we loaded the arena and sent it on it's way.
On the third day the remains of
barn number three was turned to ashes.
And on the fourth
day, 1000 yards of base dirt was spread on our new arena at
Churchill Farms as we prepared it for the beginning of our 1999
season with the "WINTER CLASSIC" on February 20, 1999.
And on the fifth day
the new arena began to take shape with the help of many of our
dedicated friends and followers from throughout the area.
And on the sixth day
we hauled in sand from our old arena at Pretty Oaks and our painting crew went to work on the arena.
And on the seventh day
the arena was finished and we rested.
And on February 20, 1999, we dedicated the arena.
And the WINTER CLASSIC was born. Soon to be a legend as the largest open horse show in the South. We are leaving the arena lights on all night so that our members can come and practice in the arena whenever they wish. One of the new designs that our new arena has is a 20 foot wide runout gate instead of just a 10 foot one like most arenas have. After you exit the arena it is about a quarter of a mile back to the woods so everyone has plenty of time to stop. The driveway is a quarter of a mile long so there is room to park trailers on both sides of it even after a rainy day when the pasture is too damp for parking.
