Racing Non-Members, or Occasionally Racing Members: Brian Karasek — Brian, a strong and experienced racer, agreed to join Ruination for the 2005 Desert Rage Las Vegas race. Jeff Hobbs — Jeff is a fizzy yellow beer drinking wuss! He teamed up with Brian and Jim to make Ruination a three-person Male team for the 2005 Desert Rage Las Vegas race and then kept the Ruination IPA jersey that Jim loaned him. We’ve asked him several times to return the jersey and he has ignored our requests. Fizzy yellow beer drinking pansy wuss!. Non-Racing Members:Brian Duffy — Tyrolean Traverse coach/adviser and provider of much encouragement (Once a Marine, always a Marine) also, Vice President, Southern Arizona Rescue Association. Sean Whitsitt — Support Crew Captain. Did a fantastic job running support operations in Durango 2005. Cay Rodriguez — Ultimately responsible for the team name. Cay and Pete attended the Full Moon Over Phoenix race in 2005 to serve as support crew, but failed to take any pictures. Lee Ryan — Excellent adviser, paddling coach and loaner of good paddle. An actual Canadian. Lee will run a race in 2006! <— this ain’t likely. Eh. Mary Whitsitt — Extremely patient and tolerant spouse of Gerry. Also, the first support member to actually attend a race when the team was entered. The next race she attends will be the first one scheduled after the ambient temperature in Hell has dropped below 32 degrees F. Acknowledgments: Steve Cox— A fine gentleman who loaned us a very nice Swifty Kayak and a good paddle too. Drank a Stone Ruination IPA once. He prefers Stone Pale Ale. Rick Eastman— A fine gentleman who puts on a really great race. Has been known to drink Bud Lite, but loves Stone Ruination IPA.
