technical LEAD: ADVANCED SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT
Technical lead for complex engineering projects involving custom software development, custom interface design & implementation, project management, ISO 9000 documentation & procedures, field commissioning, and customer support/training. Projects completed include:SOE Log Consolidation System for Power Generation Facility
- Developed overall system design strategy to fulfill customer requirements for a synchronized sequence-of-events (SOE) log consolidation system.
- Weighed technical risk associated with a variety of approaches for gathering and consolidating SOE data from the ABB Harmony Distributed SOE system, GE Mark V Controls, and GE Digital Generator Panel (DGP) system.
- Selected Windows NT/PC based data acquisition system from Elsag Bailey Hartmann & Braun (EBHB) and coordinated contract agreement with the system provider for engineering support to implement required modifications to interface to the customer system.
Custom Interface for Wastewater Treatment Plant
- Proposed Windows NT/PC based custom interface to provide simple reconfiguration during the transition from the existing control to the new DCS to reflect wiring changes.
- Coordinated work activities among several ABB engineers and a third-party provider of a bridge to the existing control system. ABB and third-party provider modified/expanded API libraries to facilitate the initialization and configuration of their respective systems, and to improve data transfer performance.
- Conducted periodic design reviews and generated Product Development Plan, Functional Specifications, and Test Plan documents in compliance with ISO 9000 procedures.
- Developed material for on-site customer training and participated in training.
- Participated in commissioning and acceptance testing of interface to assure customer satisfaction.
