1900 Census of Seger Indian School - Indian Staff and Students. The image below consists of excerpts from the 1900 Indian census pages for the Seger Indian School ("Seger Colony School," Washita County, enumeration district no. 210, Union Township, sheets 21A-24B). The information by column consists of the following: name, relationship of subject to head of family, race, sex, month and year of birth, age at last birthday, marital status, number of years married, and number of children and number of children still living for mothers. The census was taken June 27, 1900, by Armstead M. Hurst. Indian employees of the school appear first, then the students (115 in total) followed by the Indian families in the Union Township. Under the relationship column, boarding students were designated as inmates. For employees of the school, the column was used to record job title or occupation.
