1900 Census of Seger Indian School - Non-Indian Employees.  The image below is an excerpt from the 1900 census pages for the Union Township and shows the beginning of the census for the Seger Indian School ("Seger Colony School," Washita County, enumeration district no. 210, sheet 20A). The information by column consists of the following:  name, relationship of subject to head of family, race, sex, month and year of birth, age at last birthday, marital status, number of years married, and number of children and number of children still living for mothers. The census was taken June 26-7, 1900, by Armstead M. Hurst.

The names of the school's non-Indian employees start at the 30th listed individual ("Seger, John" as head) and run the balance of the page, finishing up with the physician (Robinson), carpenter (Dixon), farmer (Ratzlaff), stonemason (Archie), and families. The relationship column for most employees shows a job title or occupation.

The Seger family appears about a third of the way down the page ("Seger, Mary" listed as head of the family) and is followed by the Walter Roe family of the mission church (Columbian Memorial Church of the (Dutch) Reformed Church of America).
