Seger Colony and the Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians

In the 1830s the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes separated into northern and southern groups. The material below primarily covers the Southern Cheyenne and the Southern Arapaho, who came to settle on land in the western part of Indian Territory (Oklahoma) in 1870. I have, with the exception of the first photograph, presented things in chronological order to the extent possible.

Note: If you purchased a large-sized aerial photograph of the Seger Indian School at a 1991 auction in El Reno, Oklahoma, please contact me by clicking here. The photograph, marred by splotches, sold for $10.00.
