About Isabelle

Isabelle had written a some passages on a few small pieces of paper.  They were found in her apartment the day she continued her journey.  They are a small testament to the kind of person Isabelle was.  Those passages are as follows:

The sin is not growing old, It's all in how you do it.
If you complain about the pain and can't smile when the sun is shining,
don't blame it on 'the rockets to the moon',
because you can do something about it.
Thank god you're still here and have (the) sense to fear the elements from above.
Turn your face up and give thanks to above that that you are still able to hold loved ones near and comfort their tears and the world will be better form it

Growing old with grace is so hard to do
your cane's near the bed,
your teeth in a glass,
your ears are in a box.
Sure you're all together
as you slip into your bed
The lights are off
you put out the cat
the doors are locked
all is peace at last
Gee---- did I put out the trash?
-------------------------------
To think that once I could dance until three
Now I take ten paces and must stop to pee.
Once I could read the fine print at the bottom of the page
Now, it is impossible to even see the stage.
Once my teeth were pearly white,
Now, I take them out at night
Once my ears could hear distant sounds,
Now, they are silent and devoid of sound.

But it's good to be here and realize that
despite my infirmities
someone still loves me.

Here is a poem I found that reminded me of Isabelle:

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day.
To laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that place at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembering joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah, yes these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life’s been full, I’ve savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me.

God wanted me now

He set me free.
