by Master Craftsman
Jim has been a fine woodworker for a long time. A woodworking teacher for twenty-four years and an instrument builder and repair craftsman since 1994, Jim has developed the skills to service most any kind of fretted stringed instrument (as well as some fiddles and basses). He'll work on most any traditional instrument doing setups, re-fretting or fret repair as well as installing new bridges and nuts. He'll also handle crack repairs, dings and nics to the body or bindings.
Good customer relations and satisfaction are very important to Jim. He enjoys meeting the customers and takes a lot pride in being able to communicate effectively to get at the problems they are trying to solve. You'll often find him out on the showroom floor sharing his extensive knowledge with customers, staff, and instructors. He likes getting into the mix!
Jim is in the store every Saturday and will gladly talk with you about any technical issues relating to your instrument. Bring in your "baby" and get a straight answer on how to address the problem you may be having with it. You can call any day of the week of course to talk with the store staff; and they can relay your message to Jim when he's in on Saturdays.
