FIX THIS NARRATIVE
I became interested in Therapy dog work in 1988 and joined Therapy Dogs International. I worked at several local health facilities including hospitals, a residential home for severely disabled children, and a day care center for Alzheimer's patients. I worked with with stroke and brain injured patients at a rehabilitation hospital with my collies, Trouper and Kelly, for ten years. I am currently conducting orientation and training sessions for new therapy dogs coming into the hospital. Cody, my eleven year-old collie, has settled into a career in pediatric oncology at another local hospital, helping kids to feel better while they receive chemotherapy treatments. Cody recently retired from therapy work, having completed close to four hundred therapy visits. Like all of my dogs, he passed the temperament test from the American Temperament Test Society. My youngest collie, Bailey, has recently certified by Therapy Dogs International and is working in pediatric oncology with Cody. Many years ago, while I was teaching in the public schools, I designed a humane education program for teaching kindness, commitment, and responsibility to children. Using dogs as a theme, I adapted my humane education program for the Internet and created a website for children called How to Love Your Dog: A Kid's Guide to Responsible Dog Care. You may visit it at http://loveyourdog.com. Thanks for visiting Therapy Dogs.Net!
