|
About the Illustrator: This book is in memory of Kimberly Gewerth Robb, the illustrator. Kimberly had Muscular Dystrophy and even though she had a limited amount of muscle movement, she was a wonderful person that touched everyone she met. Most of all, she was just like you and me; she was just sitting down. About the Author: Elisa Linovitz Snader has a Masters degree in Special Education. She has been teaching grades Kindergarten through 6th Grade for 18 years. She is currently teaching in an elementary school classroom in Phoenix, Arizona. On weekends, she also works with adults with disabilities. Elisa loves dogs and she even has a dog in a wheelchair due to illness.
"The Wheelchair" (A Children's Book About Disability Awareness): A boy goes to school and sees a girl in a wheelchair and is scared because she appears different. The boy learns the girl is much more than "The Wheelchair." A wonderful story about looking beyond differences. |
