The Names of God

He is called by many names. Here is a short list of the many names for God. Most of these myself I didn't know until recently here in the past few months. Some churches use a variety of God's names with frequency, others may use only just a few.

Keep in mind this is far from being a complete list!

Adoni: Lord God (Genesis 15:2)
Abba: Father
Elohim: Powerful God (Genesis 1:1)
El Elyon: God Most High (Genesis 14:19,20)
El Shaddai: God Almighty
Hosanna: Save Now
Immanuel: God With Us
Jahu: short version of Jehovah
Jah: short version of Jehovah
Jehovah: I Am, The ETERNAL LIVING ONE
Jehovah Gmolah: Lord Who Recompenses (Romans 12:17-21)
Jehovah Heleyon: Lord Most High (Acts 7:48, 16:17)
Jehovah Jireh: Jehovah Will See, or Provide (Genesis 22:14, John 1:29, Phillipians. 4:19)
Jehovah Mekkeh: Lord Who Smites (Hebrews 12:6)
Jehovah Mekadesh: Jehovah Who Sanctifies Me (Leviticus 20:8)
Jehovah Nissi: Jehovah My Banner (Exodus 17:15,16, Matthew 21:9)
Jehovah Rohi: Jehovah My Sheppard (Psalm 23:1, John 10:14, Revelations 7:17)
Jehovah Rophe: Jehovah My Healer (Exodus 15:26, Matthew 11:45)
Jehovah Shalom: Jehovah is Peace (Judges 6:24, Ephesians 2:14, John 14:27)
Jehovah Shammah: Jehovah is Jesus (Ezekiel 48:35, Matthew 1:23, John 1:14)
Jehovah Tsebaoth: The Lord of Hosts (Genesis 22:14, Matthew 25:31, John 1:51)
Jehovah Tsidkenu: Jehovah Our Righteousness (Jeremiah 23:6, I Corinthians 1:30, Romans 3:22)
Messiah Ben-Judah: Reigning King
Messiah Ben-Yosef: Suffering Savior
Yahweh: My Lord, Almighty God (Exodus 3:14)
Yah: short version of Yahweh
