Map of Lakeside Lake
Lake Description
Chuck Ford–Lakeside Park in east Tucson, northwest corner of Stella Road and Sarnoff Drive.
This is a 14 acres at full capacity. Maximum depth 35 feet, average depth 15 feet.
SPECIAL NOTE: In recent years Lakeside has experienced extremely low oxygen levels during the summer months. Consequently it has been necessary to cancel some catfish stockings. A state-of-the-art aeration system was installed by the City of Tucson in 2002 to improve lake conditions for fish.
Fishing Tips and News
On April 15th my daughter caught a 10 inch rainbow, the following morning I caught a 14 inch rainbow trout. We used meal worms for bait with a bobber.
This is a decent lake to fish. We usually catch at least one fish everytime we go. The majority of our catch are small 5-7 inch catfish using stinkbait dough (they seem to prefer the Catfish Charlies Bait dough.) Not big fish but for a dad and 5 year old daughter its fun, because she loves to catch and release the little fish.
I've seen folks pull out 24 inch plus inch catfish caught with shrimp.
