EARTH CHARTER
WORLD EVENTS IN THE NEWS
Things are going on in the world today that we certainly must be aware and take note of. We are publishing a couple of charters which have recently been made up by the world’s elite and either have been signed into action or are in the process of being signed into action. The Earth Charter is in the process of being ratified. The United Religions Charter was signed on June 26th. Both of these charters have far reaching consequences, especially for YAHWEH'S people. We must begin to gird up our loins for the beginning to stir and to rear its ugly head. When it is restored to its full power, it will make war against YAHWEH'S people. It will take YAHWEH'S special intervention to protect and deliver His people.
We are presenting the Earth Charter and the United Religions Charter along with our own Comments in the appropriate places.
EARTH CHARTER
We stand at a critical moment in Earth’s history, a time when humanity must choose its future. As the world becomes increasingly interdependent and fragile, the future at once holds great peril and great promise. To move forward we must recognize that in the midst of a magnificent diversity of cultures and life forms we are one human family and one Earth community with a common destiny. We must join together to bring forth a sustainable global society founded on respect for nature, universal human rights, economic justice, and a culture of peace. Towards this end, it is imperative that we, the peoples of Earth, declare our responsibility to one another, to the greater community of life, and to future generations.
(COMMENT: Humanity chose its future when the first man took of the forbidden fruit and ate of it [Gen. 3]. The sons of Adam continue to make the same mistakes and wrong choices. At what period of time in man’s history have we not stood at critical moments? Have we been brought to the critical moment because of the increasingly interdependence brought upon us by the globalists? Why is it fragile? Isn’t it because of the diversity of mankind in his races and cultures? The world has been sustained for almost 6,000 years now without a global society. Why is it that we suddenly need a united global society? Why must we declare our responsibility to one another? How can we force man and woman declare their responsibility to one another in marriage, but how long does that last in this day and age? Our presidents and congressmen declare their responsibility to the nation, the people and the constitution, but how many of them have really been true and faithful to their words. Why is it that we must declare our responsibility to one another and not to our Creator Elohim YAHWEH?}
Earth, Our Home
Humanity is part of a vast evolving universe, Earth, our home, is alive with a unique community of life. The forces of nature make existence a demanding and uncertain adventure, but Earth has provided the conditions essential to life’s evolution. The resilience of the community of life and the well-being of humanity depend upon preserving a healthy biosphere with all its ecological systems, a rich variety of plants and animals, fertile soils, pure waters, and clean air. The global environment with its finite resources is a common concern of all peoples. The protection of Earth’s vitality, diversity, and beauty is a sacred trust.
(COMMENT: We can see that this charter does not come from YAHWEH can’t we? It credits evolution [mindless creation] with our existence and earth’s unique ability to sustain life rather that giving credit and glory to YAHWEH the true Creator.
How can there be a SACRED TRUST when there is no Creator Elohim in these men’s eyes? According to Webster’s New World Dictionary, the word "sacred" has to do with something being consecrated to or belonging to a [Elohim] or deity. Holy, of or connected with religion or religious rites. If it all evolved, then there is no Elohim, no deity, therefore nothing is or can be sacred, holy, consecrated or set apart.)
The Global Situation
The dominant patterns of production and consumption are causing environmental devastation, the depletion of resources, and a massive extinction of species. Communities are being undermined. The benefits of development are not shared equitably and the gap between rich and poor is widening. Injustice, poverty, ignorance, and violent conflict are widespread and the cause of great suffering. And unprecedented rise in human population has overburdened ecological and social systems. The foundations of global security are threatened. These trends are perilous but not inevitable.
(COMMENT: Just who owns the great production outlets and facilities of the world? Who is it that is depleting the resources causing massive extinction of species? Don’t the excessively rich truly own the greatest production outlets and facilities? If the resources are being depleted, it is because the rich have done so in order to make their countless billions and trillions.
This whole thing is a ploy to cause the little person to cease in their so-called exploitation of the earth’s resources so the very rich and wealthy can have it all to themselves and dole it out as they see fit.
Yes, there is a tremendous gap between the rich and poor, but the tenets of this charter will probably only be utilized against the peoples in the middle-class. There will always be a tremendous gap between the very, very rich and the poor. The very, very rich will to that.
Of course there is injustice. Injustice will continue as long as man is in control of the earth. Injustice will not cease until the true Just One comes to establish the King of Elohim. Violent conflict will always be utilized by men who have the wealth and power to take what ever they desire at the expense of others.)
The Challenges Ahead
The choice is ours: form a global partnership to care for Earth and one another or risk the destruction of ourselves and the diversity of life. Fundamental changes are needed in our values, institutions, and ways of living. We must realize that when basic needs have been met, human development is primarily about being more, not having more. We have the knowledge and technology to provide for all and to reduce our impacts on the environment. The emergence of a global civil society is creating new opportunities to build a democratic and humane world. Our environmental, economic, political, social, and spiritual challenges are interconnected, and together we can forge inclusive solutions.
(COMMENT: How true that fundamental changes are needed in our values, institutions, and ways of living. But where are we going to get these values from? Of course, we must understand that this Earth Charter is a charter drawn up by a group of men who only have the minds of men. What they are presenting sounds good, but they are actually in denial of the way of life that would bring true peace and harmony. That way of life is defined in the pages of the Holy Scriptures, which were inspired by the Holy Spirit. This whole document is a humanistic, communistic, socialistic ploy to enforce these values of a very small group of people on the rest of the earth.)
Universal Responsibility
To realize these aspirations, we must decide to live with a sense of universal responsibility, identifying ourselves with the whole Earth community as well as our local communities. We are at once citizens of different nations and of one world in which the local and global are linked. Everyone shares responsibility for the present and future well-being of the human family and the larger living world. The spirit of human solidarity and kinship with all life is strengthened when we live with reverence for the mystery of being, gratitude for the gift of life, and humility regarding the human place in nature.
(COMMENT: We have come full circle since the days of Noah and Nimrod. YAHWEH had desired that man disperse throughout the earth in order to replenish it. However, Nimrod sought to unify the peoples of the earth under one headship and one government his. It was YAHWEH Who interfered in man’s (Nimrod’s) affairs to create confusion in order to disperse the people throughout the world. We are not intended to come under one banner until YAHshua returns to establish the Kingdom rule. Again, this document is a ploy to take away every man’s right to own his own property and home and to utilize it as he sees fit.)
We urgently need a shared vision of basic values to provide an ethical foundation for the emerging world community. Therefore, together in hope we affirm the following interdependent principles for a sustainable way of life as a common standard by which the conduct of all individuals, organizations, businesses, governments, and transnational institutions is to be guided and assessed.
(COMMENT: Here again, is man’s attempt to legislate a way to live and intermingle outside the tenets of Holy Scripture. This is nothing more than the KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL which Adam and Eve took to themselves.)
PRINCIPLES
I RESPECT AND CARE FOR
THE COMMUNITY OF LIFE
1 Respect Earth and life in all its diversity. Recognize that all beings are interdependent and every form of life has value regardless of its worth to human beings. Affirm faith in the inherent dignity of all human beings and in the intellectual, artistic, ethical, and spiritual potential of humanity.
(COMMENT: Isn’t it amazing that they can talk about spiritual potential when they don’t even acknowledge that there is a Creator Elohim? Is there dignity in a criminal, a rapist, a murderer, a thief, a homosexual, an adulterer, a liar, etc.? Dignity has to do with being worthy of esteem, honor, repute, etc. Is that inherent in all peoples? I think not.)
2 Care for the community of life with understanding, compassion, and love.
Accept that with the right to own, manage, and use natural resources comes the duty to prevent environmental harm and to protect the rights of people.
(COMMENT: In other words, make it environmentally impossible for anyone to extract the natural resources from their property except for the very wealthy who can afford the expense. What kind of understanding, compassion and love are they talking about? It certainly isn’t the understanding, compassion and love as revealed in the Holy Scriptures.)
Affirm that with increased freedom, knowledge, and power comes increased responsibility to promote the common good.
3 Build democratic societies that are just, participatory, sustainable, and peaceful.
(COMMENT: Greece failed, American and Russia have failed in their democracies, how do they think that they can come up with a more perfect system that will ensure this ideal democracy? Besides, the definition of Democracy is government in which the people hold the ruling power either directly or through elected representatives…majority rule…the common people, esp. as the wielders of political power. Man, in today’s world, has effectively twisted the meaning of Democracy to be rule of small special interest groups rather than the majority.)
Ensure that communities at all levels guarantee human rights and fundamental freedoms and provide everyone an opportunity to realize his or her full potential.
(COMMENT: Just what is a person’s full potential? Do they know? Have they said? And just what are human rights? One very famous patriarch said, "Naked came I from my mother’s womb and naked shall I return thither: YAHWEH gave YAHWEH hath taken away; blessed be the name YAHWEH." Another well known person stated, "For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out." This is our true potential when left to ourselves.)
Promote social and economic justice, enabling all to achieve a secure and meaningful livelihood that is ecologically responsible.
(COMMENT: How do they propose a secure and meaningful livelihood? America has sunk over 4 trillion dollars into its war on poverty and still hasn’t eradicated it from our midst. Isn’t this just another play to enforce more taxation on every living person so that a small elite can determine who gets what?)
4 Secure Earth’s bounty and beauty for present and future generations. Recognize that the freedom of action of each generation is qualified by the needs of future generations. Transmit to future generations values, traditions, and institutions that support the long-term flourishing of Earth’s human and ecological communities.
(COMMENT: We have transmitted values, traditions and institutions to future generations throughout history. Most of the old values, traditions and institutions will have to be done away with in order to achieve this goal. The only values and institutions that are truly worth transmitting are those values and institutions found in the pages of the Holy Scriptures.)
In order to fulfill these four broad commitments, it is necessary to:
II ECOLOGICAL INTEGRITY
5 Protect and restore the integrity of Earth’s ecological systems, with special concern for biological diversity and the natural processes that sustain life.
Adopt at all levels sustainable development plans and regulations that make environmental conservation and rehabilitation integral to all development initiatives.
Establish and safeguard viable nature and biosphere reserves, including wild lands and marine areas, to protect Earth’s life support systems, maintain biodiversity, and preserve our natural heritage.
(COMMENT: They only way to do this is to make the present national parks and public lands off limits to human accessibility. It also means that many people will have to give their lands over to the control of the environmentalists.)
Promote the recovery of endangered species and ecosystems. Control and eradicate non-native genetically modified organisms harmful to native species and the environment, and prevent introduction of such harmful organisms.
(COMMENT: How do they propose to do this? How can we eradicate fire ants, killer bees and so many, many other imported pestilences? And why not shut down the genetic research departments that are all going crazy with the production of genetically engineered seeds, animals and other sordid creatures? What does this say for Monsanto’s terminator see?)
Manage the use of renewable resources such as water, soil, forest products, and marine life in ways that do not exceed rates of regeneration and that protect the health of ecosystems.
Manage the extraction and use of nonrenewable resources such as minerals and fossil fuels in ways that minimize depletion and cause no serious environmental damage.
(COMMENT: In other words, the control of everything will be given to this body which is administering the Earth Charter. This will not be a true Democracy, but rather an elite aristocratic rulership.)
6 Prevent harm as the best method of environmental protection and, when knowledge is limited, apply a precautionary approach.
Take action to avoid the possibility of serious or irreversibly environmental harm even when scientific knowledge is incomplete or inconclusive.
Place the burden of proof on those who argue that a proposed activity will not cause significant harm, and make the responsible parties liable for environmental harm.
(COMMENT: In other words, a person has ulterior, criminal motives and must prove that his motives are pristine and pure before embarking on any task concerning his property. A person is guilty until proven innocent. It will be an expensive proposition to prove one’s innocence, thus, the common person will always be determined to be guilty and will have no financial means to prove otherwise.)
Ensure that decision making addresses the cumulative, long-term, indirect, long distance, and global consequences of human activities.
Prevent pollution of any part of the environment and allow no build-up of radioactive, toxic, or other hazardous substances.
(COMMENT: Of course, this means that all industrial activity must come to a halt since industrial activity pollutes. We must also give up our automobiles, electricity and any other device which pollutes, no matter the need.)
Avoid military activities damaging to the environment.
COMMENT: This I have to see.)
7 Adopt patterns of production, consumption, and reproduction that safeguard Earth’s regenerative capacities, human rights, and community well-being.
Reduce, reuse, and recycle the materials used in production and consumption systems, and ensure that residual waste can be assimilated by ecological systems.
(COMMENT: The recycling of certain products has not proven to be cost effective. How must this reusing and recycling of material be accomplished? On the backs of the taxpayer, of course.)
Act with restraint and efficiency when using energy, and rely increasingly on renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.
Promote the development, adoption, and equitable transfer of environmentally sound technologies.
Internalize the full environmental and social costs of goods and services in the selling price, and enable consumers to identify products that meet the highest social and environmental standards.
(COMMENT: In other words, incorporate special sales taxes and other charges on products which will force prices higher and higher.)
Ensure universal access to health care that fosters reproductive health and responsible reproduction.
(COMMENT: Another social system which forces the many to fork over their hard earned money so that the irresponsible may be taken care of. What an expensive proposition this going to be!)
Adopt lifestyles that emphasize the quality of life and material sufficiency in a finite world.
6 Advance the study of ecological sustainability and promote the open exchange and wide application of the knowledge acquired.
(COMMENT: More research money for the scientists, more taxes for the people.)
Support international scientific and technical cooperation of sustainability, with special attention to the needs of developing nations.
Recognize and preserve the traditional knowledge and spiritual wisdom in all cultures that contribute to environmental protection and human well-being.
Ensure that information of vital importance to human health and environmental protection, including genetic information, remains available in the public domain.
III SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC JUSTICE
9
Eradicate poverty as an ethical, social, and environmental imperative.(COMMENT: Again, the U.S. has spent over 4 trillion dollars to do this very thing and has yet to eradicate poverty in this nation.)
Guarantee the right to potable water, clean air, food security, uncontaminated soil, shelter, and safe sanitation, allocating the national and international resources required.
Empower every human being with the education and resources to secure a sustainable livelihood, and provide social security and safety nets for those who are unable to support themselves.
Recognize the ignored, protect the vulnerable, serve those who suffer, and enable them to develop their capacities and to pursue their aspirations.
10 Ensure that economic activities and institutions at all levels promote human development in an equitable and sustainable manner.
10 Promote the equitable distribution of wealth within nations and among nations.
(COMMENT: In other words, continue to take from those who work and produce in order to give to those who don’t.)
Enhance the intellectual, financial, technical, and social resources of developing nations, and relieve them of onerous international debt.
(COMMENT: In other words, forgive all nations their debts which they owe to the U.S. taxpayer, which may result in financial collapse of this country and those taxpayers.)
Ensure that all trade supports sustainable resource use, environmental protection, and progressive labor standards.
(COMMENT: This will ensure shortages of products for everyone, except the very rich who can afford it, of course.)
Require multinational corporations and international financial organizations to act transparently in the public good, and hold them accountable for the consequences of their activities.
11 Affirm gender equality and equity as prerequisites to sustainable development and ensure universal access to education, health care, and economic opportunity.
Secure the human rights of women and girls and end all violence against them.
Promote the active participation of women in all aspects of economic, political, civil, social, and cultural life as full and equal partners, decision makers, leaders, and beneficiaries.
Strengthen families and ensure the safety and loving nurture of all family members.
(COMMENT: How do they propose to do this? Will they be visiting all homes to make sure that this is being employed?)
12 Uphold the right of all, without discrimination, to a natural and social environment supportive of human dignity, bodily health, and spiritual well-being, with special attention to the rights of indigenous peoples and minorities.
Eliminate discrimination in all its forms, such as that based on race, color, sex, sexual orientation, religion, language, and national, ethnic or social origin.
Affirm the right of indigenous peoples to their spirituality, knowledge, lands and resources and to their related practice of sustainable livelihoods.
(COMMENT: Does this meant that North and South America will be returned to the Indians? Will Australia be given back to the aborigines? And what if their traditions and practices truly injure and pollute the land? What will they do then?)
Honor and support the young people of our communities, enabling them to fulfill their essential role in creating sustainable societies.
Protect and restore outstanding places of cultural and spiritual significance.
(COMMENT: This word "spiritual" certainly comes up quite often, but without knowledge of the true Creator being taught, how can there be any true spiritual significance? This whole document is nothing more than a humanistic ploy to proclaim that man can create an ideal society apart from and without any interference from the Creator.)
IV DEMOCRACY, NON-VIOLENCE, AND PEACE
13
Strengthen democratic institutions at all levels, and provide transparency and accountability in governance, inclusive participation in decision making, and access to justice.(COMMENT: How do they propose to strengthen the democratic institutions at all levels? Does this mean that there will be a trained army which will be sent to enforce the edicts of the democratic government? This looks more like a DEMONCRATIC government the further to we read.)
Uphold the right of everyone to receive clear and timely information on environmental matters and all development plans and activities which are likely to affect them or in which they have an interest.
Support local, regional and global civil society, and promote the meaningful participation of all interested individuals and organizations in decision making.
Protect the rights to freedom of opinion, expression, peaceful assembly, association, and dissent.
Institute effective and efficient access to administrative and independent judicial procedures, including remedies and redress for environmental harm and the threat of such harm.
Eliminate corruption in all public and private institutions.
(COMMENT: As we can see, this will require a change in the human heart since Scripture says, "The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jer. 17:9 This includes the so-called leaders of this idealistic proposed new world. How do they propose to change the heart? It will have to be by force of arms, threats and elimination of many peoples.)
Strengthen local communities, enabling them to care for their environments, and assign environmental responsibilities to the levels of government where they can be carried out most effectively.
14 Integrate into formal education and life-long learning the knowledge, values, and skills needed for a sustainable away of life.
(COMMENT: This can only be done through a change of heart in man which requires repentance, acceptance of YAHshua the Messiah as Savior and the reception of the Holy Spirit. There is no other way possible to effect a change that will bring about the desired results, to wit: a utopia.)
Provide all, especially children and youth, with educational opportunities that empower them to contribute actively to sustainable development.
(COMMENT: Brain wash the children.)
Promote the contribution of the arts and humanities as well as the sciences in sustainability education.
Enhance the role of the mass media in raising awareness of ecological and social challenges.
(COMMENT: Continue the BIASED news that we receive from all the networks.)
Recognize the importance of moral and spiritual education for sustainable living.
15 Treat all living beings with respect and consideration.
(COMMENT: Except those who will not allow themselves to be brought under this satanic plan.)
Prevent cruelty to animals kept in human societies and protect them from suffering. Protect wild animals from methods of hunting, trapping, and fishing that cause extreme, prolonged, or avoidable suffering.
Avoid or eliminate to the full extent possible the taking or destruction of non-targeted species.
16 Promote a culture of tolerance, nonviolence, and peace.
(COMMENT: Again, how do they propose to change the heart of man in order to bring this about?)
Encourage and support mutual understanding, solidarity, and cooperation among all peoples and within and among nations.
(COMMENT: Man has never been able to accomplish this impossible feat. How do they think that they can do this now? What great changes in man’s spirit and attitude has come about in these days which causes them to think that they can bring this about?)
Implement comprehensive strategies to prevent violent conflict and use collaborative problem solving to manage and resolve environmental conflicts and other disputes.
Demilitarize national security systems to the level of a non-provocative defense posture, and convert military resources to peaceful purposes, including ecological restoration.
Eliminate nuclear, biological, and toxic weapons and other weapons of mass destruction.
(COMMENT: This sounds like an excerpt straight from the pages of Scripture, "…and they shall beat their swords in plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore," Isa. 2:4.
This document is nothing more than man’s feeble attempt to institute YAHWEH’S kingdom without YAHWEH, in other words, a counterfeit.)
Ensure that the use of orbital and outer space supports environmental protection and peace.
Recognize that peace is the wholeness created by right relationships with oneself, other persons, other cultures, other life, Earth, and the larger whole of which all are a part.
(COMMENT: Notice the continual talk of peace without any reference to YAHWEH, the Elohim of peace. Nothing has been said about YAHshua the Prince of peace. Paul warns, "For when they shall say, ‘Peace and safety,’ then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." 1 Thes. 5:3.)
THE WAY FORWARD
As never before in history, common destiny beckons us to seek a new beginning. Such renewal is the promise of these Earth Charter principles. To fulfill this promise, we must commit ourselves to adopt and promote the values and objectives of the Charter.
(COMMENT: Notice the wording, We must commit ourselves to adopt and promote the values and objectives of the Charter, while nothing is said of the Scriptures nor the Holy Spirit.)
This requires a change of mind and heart. It requires a new sense of global interdependence and universal responsibility. We must imaginatively develop and apply the vision of a sustainable way of life locally, nationally, regionally, and globally. Our cultural diversity is a precious heritage and different cultures will find their own distinctive ways to realize the vision. We must deepen and expand the global dialogue that generated the Earth Charter, for we have much to learn from the ongoing collaborative search for truth and wisdom.
(COMMENT: There is no possible way to find truth and wisdom outside of YAHWEH’S word and His Messiah Who is Truth. This document is nothing more than a deceptive ploy engendered to cause man to trust in his own ability to bring about these conditions apart from and without the intervention of the Creator YAHWEH, This is humanism at its root.)
Life often involves tensions between important values. This can mean difficult choices. However, we must find ways to harmonize diversity with unity, the exercise of freedom with the common good, short-term objectives with long-term goals. Every individual, family, organization, and community has a vital role to play. The arts, sciences, religions, educational institutions media, businesses, non-governmental organizations, and governments are all called to offer creative leadership. The partnership of government, civil society, and business is essential for effective governance.
In order to build a sustainable global community, the nations of the world must renew their commitment to the
United Nations, fulfill their obligations under existing international agreements, and support the implementation of Earth Charter principles with an international legally binding instrument on environment and development.Let ours be a time remembered for the awakening of a new reverence for life, the firm resolve to achieve sustainability, the quickening of the struggle for justice and peace, and the joyful celebration of life.
