HyTech's Joystick setup for FFoW PC Version 1.10This guide has finally been made obsolete by the release of patch 1.20. Although joystick support and many other fixes have been implemented. I have decided to uninstall FFOW![]() Well here we go again. I have updated this guide with a new .ini for the 1.10 Patch. I still can not get my throttle to work so I will continue using the Logitech profiler until I figure it out. Hopefully the 1.20 patch will make this guide useless. You will need to download this file for the joystick to work. JoystickDefaultInput.ini(Patch 1.10 ini file updated 6/9/08: fixed twist axis for jet .)   It is just an .ini file I edited to get my joystick to respond properly. It should also work with other joysticks. The only thing that the game will not recognize is the throttle but below I have a way to assign keyboard keys to your throttle so it will work. Place this file in C:\Program Files\THQ\Frontlines-Fuel of War\GCGame\Config. Then you need to right click on Defaultinput.ini select properties and uncheck read only. Then rename your DefaultInput.ini to BackupDefaultInput.ini and finally rename the file JoystickDefaultInput.ini you downloaded to DefaultInput.ini If you can get this part done you will be able to manuever The Plane and the Heli with your joystick. Below you will find how to get a working throttle. I increased the speed of the throttle keys(I basically turned up the idle on the Jet and Helo Engines)to the point where the Helo just takes off with throttle centered. This reduces the constant throttle work needed when flying. The Jet will start rolling while throttle is centered so just keep it back when getting in. You can download my Logitech profilehere (right click save target as) and if it works you can avoid assigning keys below. You will still need the Profiler software to import my profile. Open your profiler and select import FFoW.wgp If the profile does not work for you or you have a different brand joystick read below to get an idea how the profiler works. This part may work with other brands like Saitek and Microsoft if they have similar profiler software. My joystick is the one pictured below Extreme 3DPro but Im pretty sure this will work for other models. Create a profile for FFoW ![]() Browse to C:\Program Files\THQ\Frontlines-Fuel of War\Binaries\FFOW.exe and select FFoW.exe and click open ![]() Choose an Icon and click okay ![]() Now we need to change the throttle assignment. Click on throttle in profiler Select Assignment, New axis Assignment ![]() Name axis assignment FFoW then click on Edit ![]() Repeat Record for the key you will use for Throttle Backward . The bracket keys pictured in the screenshots messed up the ingame chat so I changed them to the page up and page down keys.
![]() Now just select your keystroke commands you chose for you your throttle ![]()
