Visitors are welcome to join us for coffee hour in the Parish Hall following the service and to visit our Bookstore. Also, please sign our guestbook in the Narthex. Although the Orthodox Church does not practice inter-communion, visitors may come to the altar rail to receive the Priest's blessing and the Blessed Bread. Welcome!
Soup, Salad and Stations: There is a signup sheet in the parish hall for Friday Soup, Salad, and Stations. Please take a look and see if there is a time when you could bring food. We need a Lenten soup and salad for about 8 to 12 people. The meal will start at 6:00 p.m. with Stations of the Cross at 7:00 p.m. Thanks to the Jimerson family for bringing the food last Friday!
Annunciation: The Feast of the Annunciation is Tuesday, March 25. There will be Mass that day at 6:30 p.m. The feast celebrates when the Archangel Gabriel came to Mary and told her she would become the Mother of God, or Theotokos. This is one of the Twelve Great Feasts of the Orthodox Church.
Vestry: There will be a vestry meeting today after mass. All vestry members should plan to attend.
Coffee Hour: Thanks to Mat. Susan for coffee hour treats today. Check the list if you wish to sign up to bring food.
Men's Retreat: Bishop Basil will be leading a retreat for the men of the archdiocese April 4 through 6 in Victoria, KS. Please see Fr. Theodore if you are interested in attending this event.
Evening Book Study: We continue our evening book study on Thursday, April 3 at 7:00 p.m. The book is Archimandrite Zacharias' work, The Enlargement of the Heart.
Mite Boxes: Please pick up a Mite Box in the Narthex. These funds are forwarded after Easter to the Food for Hungry People campaign. For the curious: A Mite is a small, low-value coin much like a farthing (1/4 penny value). From the funds we save by not eating quite so much and refraining from meat, we can give to the poor these alms. You might consider taking one of the larger cans for your desk at work so that others can participate!
Laetare Sunday Potluck: We will be having a potluck on Laetare Sunday, April 6. There is a signup sheet downstairs in the Parish Hall. Please sign up to bring something!
