This was one of several paintings found in Martha's Albums. Martha was an artist and I believe she painted this.

Taken from one of Martha's albums, this poem dated July 28, 1852 was written by her.

Probably taken between 1890-1900, in this portrait Jesse Jefferson Melton appears to be wearing his Confererate uniform.

Picture of Mattie K. Melton was extracted from a 1901 issue of "The Confederate Veteran". Article states that she was reelected for life as Secretary of the Julia Jackson Chapter of the UDC.

This picture of Jesse was probably taken about 1905.
