The party met in the morning of Skyday the 8th of Khotsar 7407 AR at the Pirate Plank Inn in Mandaria, the capital of Synrea. They were an impressive group. Their leader was a paladin of Sumeolus named Sethyr. His calm and strength were contrasted by the brutality and rage of Brack, their dwarven barbarian. Their cleric, Kalas, was a follower of Kalapitus, the god of battle, rage, jealousy, strength, and thunder. Even their wizard, Gregor, carried a glaive into combat. They decided to travel to Mirkinos Keep to find out more about the bounty on the raiders of Galath's Roost. On their way out of town, they came across a grisly scene. In a side alley of a minor street in the Dock Quarter a group of 5 huge rats were eating the remains of a local merchant. The rats attacked the party as soon as they saw them. When the rats came closer the party could see that they were as big as large dogs and the one in the back walked on his hind legs like a man and wielded a rapier. From Gregor's study of monsters he knew that one had to be a wererat. Gregor knew the party was in trouble because not one of them had a silver weapon. Brock, Sethyr, and Kalas bravely fought off the huge rats, killing three and forcing one to flee. Next the wererat closed on the party. As they backed up, Kalas spotted the glint of a silver blade below the body of the dead merchant that the rats had been feasting on. He ran for it and found that it was a silver dagger. The wererat saw this and fled into the twisting streets of the Dock Quarter.

The party could not chase down the wererat, but they could investigate the ally that the normal rat fled into. At the end of the ally, they found a partially opened secret door and no sign of the rat. The secret door led to a partitioned off section of a warehouse. Gregor did a quick search and found nothing and the party left.

The party traveled from Mandaria to Mirkinos arriving there on the 11th. Once there, they found out how to get to Galath's Roost. They also discovered that Galath was an old bandit king who had been killed about 200 years ago. He is said to still haunt the ruins of his keep. They also met up with a local rogue named Dungus who they invited to join their expedition.

The party's first foray to Galath's roost ended abruptly when they ran into two ogres. The party got out of the ogres' way and they were about to pass when Brock let out a passing insult. An insult from a dwarf was all the ogres needed to enter a murderous frenzy. Both of the giants charged Brock. In the battle that ensued, Sethyr and Kalas were knocked unconscious but Brock emerged unscathed. The party was forced to return to Mirkinos so that their companions could recuperate. It wasn't until the 17th that they were ready to return.

The party's second foray to Galath's roost went only slightly better. They made it as far as the ruins. When they got there, they decided to camp out in the wilderness and observe the ruins. Over the course of several days bad run-ins with giant spiders and a small band of kobolds forced them to return to Mirkinos once again.

On the 1st of Napaksar the party was finally able to get into Galath's Roost. Once there they met a curious creature, a small kindly dragon by the name of Rossal. Rossal claimed to be a pseudo-dragon. The party was able to befriend Rossal and learn some valuable information. It turned out there were no bandits in the ruins of Galath's Roost but bandits did pass by about every two weeks. The party decided to set an ambush for the next group of bandits to pass by.

On the 3rd of Napaksar, the bandits fell into the party's ambush. The party was able to overcome them and capture 7 bandits. They then brought them back to Mirkinos for their reward. The party was paid 650gp for 6 live bandits and 2 dead ones. They were also instructed not to go after the bandits' lair as Duke Nittarl's men would handle the job.
