Tulls Creek/Rowland Creek trip, 9.29.2007
Maria and I paddled an offshoot of Tulls Creek in Moyock, North Carolina called Rowlands Creek. We paddled a long, long way that day (long for us). It was a bit windy (on Tulls Creek proper) and I estimate we paddled about 4-5 miles. We had a great time. There are a few houses in the first mile of the creek but after that it is all woods. We encountered some other boats (fishermen) and we could hear the city garbage truck in the distance picking up trash cans.
Maria is really starting to feel at home in "Teacup".
We saw no snakes. Lots of fish were jumping and we suspect that some river otters may have been watching us (we never did catch a glimpse of them). We saw lots of birds.
We never did make it all the way to the end of the creek. When we turned around, the creek showed no signs of narrowing significantly.
