The Arlington Open this year will be in the same
amazing auditorium that the George Mason Open was played in this past
April. The playing conditions that GMU/Arlington has to offer.
Assuming the tournament makes a profit, $1 from
every entry will go to
The US Chess
Trust Charity, so a portion of your entry will go to a good chess
cause.
This is probably the last tournament at GMU/Arlington, either forever,
or for some time. On Tuesday 10/23, the parking lot will be closed and
they will begin
construction of a new building on the lot. When Arlington II is
complete, the old building - our playing site - will be torn down.
Parking will no longer be free and at a premium when the lot is
closed next week and construction starts AND when it is completed. So,
come pay homage and farewell to a great old site
